Venue Info

First and foremost, please remember that we are guests at the Polo Fields and in order to continue our access to these beautiful facilities, we need to be respectful of both the fields and the neighborhood surrounding it. We ask that you adhere to the following rules:

  • Go NO FASTER THAN 15mph on Chukker Cove Road. This is a private road and the residents of the neighborhood pay for upkeep.
  • Carpool and park in the designated area
  • No Camping. At all.
  • No Dogs. At all.
  • No glass bottles. No bottle caps. Period.
  • Did we mention the 15mph speed limit? Seriously. 15mph. We know it's slow, but use the time to think about something constructive or crack jokes about your teammates.
  • Please keep your sideline clean. We'll even give you awesome and exciting trash bags.
  • There will be port-a-johns. They are not just there for their smashingly good looks. Use them. Not the woods.
  • 15mph. 15mph. 15mph. Remember it. Live it.

    • Mixed Division - Standard UPA Co-ed format (4/3 or 3/4) (NOTE: Mixed division is full. Further bids will be waitlisted.)
    • Open Division (NOTE: Open division is full. Further bids will be waitlisted.)
    • Women's Division (NOTE: Women's division is full. Further bids will be waitlisted.)
  • Tournament Fee

      • $275 per team if received by June 30
      • $325 per team if received after June 30

Hat Tournament Info

  • The first annual Motown Throwdown Hat Tournament is set to take place on Sunday, August 1 at the Detroit Polo Fields. Please meet at the main tent before 10 am, and bring both light and dark colored shirts.
  • The cost is $5 per player, and you can sign up with a friend if you register in advance through the website. (You can also register on-site before games begin, but please register online if you can so we can do as much advance prep as possible to give you maximum playing time!).
  • The cost covers, not only a full day of glorious frisbee bliss, but water, fruit, and bagels. Other merchandise, food and beverage is available for a cost at the main tent.

Tournament Party Info

New to Motown Throwdown 2010 is a Saturday Night Party at Striking Lanes Bowling (http://www.strikinglanesbowling.com/) in Hartland, just down the road from the Polo Fields! Striking Lanes includes: bowling lanes, mini golf, and a sports bar. Shoe rental and bowling is free for frisbee players, and great food and drink specials will be provided all night.
